Dulux Colour of the year for 2019

Last month saw the announcement of Dulux’s colour of the year 2019 as ‘Spiced Honey’ and in our opinion it's a wonderfully warm autumnal shade!

Every year a team of colour experts from Dulux come together with various industry designers, specialists, architects and trend forecasters to decide on an inspirational colour for our homes and interiors for the year ahead. The chosen colour is based on insights and information collected from a range of design and lifestyle trends, looking at key colours and designs that are emerging from top fashion and interior influencers.

According to Dulux Spiced Honey was selected to ‘reflect the new positive mood of the moment. Spiced Honey is a warm amber tone, inspired by the beauty and versatility of honey itself. Spiced Honey can be soothing or calming, cosy or vibrant, depending on the palette you pair it with.

To showcase the versatility of Spiced Honey, Dulux have put together four key colour palettes to help create a range of moods based on the colours you combine it with.

These colour palettes have got us thinking about how we can coordinate our McAlister Textile products to sit with the colour of the moment. If you love the look of Spiced Honey and want some ideas on how to introduce it into your home, check out our 4 mini mood boards - What colour palette would best suit your style?

So what is our overall opinion of Spiced Honey?

Well, we are fully embracing the move away from the cooler, greyer neutrals that have dominated interiors for several years now and enjoying the return of warmth, life and character into our homes. And what a perfect time of year to be launching this enticing, warm caramel tone!

Whether you have a traditional period home or a modern, contemporary home, Spiced Honey will complement an array of interior styles with sophistication so for that McAlister Textiles' give it a big thumbs up!
